“Prince William County officials will not move forward with a plan to build a $130 million indoor sports complex with taxpayer money and instead are returning to the idea of trying to recruit a private company to build it as part of a larger development dubbed “The Landing Town Center.”
Both the facility’s price tag and the county’s obligation to potentially cover millions in annual operating expenses led to the decision, according to Kenny Boddye, vice chair of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors.”

Fredericksburg Police tell us:
On November 30, 2024, at approximately 4:25 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police Department E-911 Center received a call about a pedestrian near the train tracks in the 200 block of Lafayette Boulevard. Upon arrival, Fredericksburg Police Officers discovered a male who had been fatally struck by a train. The on-call detective and Amtrak Police were notified and responded to the scene.
The next of kin has been notified. This investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.

Significant advancements regarding dam safety improvements for the Lake Arrowhead and Lake Carroll communities were announced at the November 19, 2024, Stafford County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Board Chairwoman Meg Bohmke of Falmouth said that grants totaling $1.25 million were secured through the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Safety, Flood Prevention, and Protection Assistance Fund.

Neabsco Regional Park is set to feature another recreational amenity, a new boat launch, by the New Year.
Prince William County Parks and Recreation is hosting the 3rd annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park, featuring hand-crafted light displays, holiday characters, carolers, and a holiday market on select nights. The event runs from December 6–27 with a special sensory-friendly evening on December 10, and shuttle services are provided from designated parking areas.
